Terms of service

Last updated 21 April 2026

These are the terms for using Crestio. By creating an account you agree to them. They're short on purpose.

What Crestio is

Crestio is a web application for tutors to manage students, sessions, invoices, and lesson plans. It's operated from Sydney, Australia.

Your account

You're responsible for what happens under your login. Don't share it. If someone else gets access to your account because you left it signed in on a shared computer, that's on you.

You must be 18 or older to sign up. Crestio is built for adult tutors running a business. If you're under 18, ask a parent or guardian.

Your data

You own the data you put into Crestio. Your students list, your sessions, your notes, your lesson plans — all yours. We hold it, process it, and protect it on your behalf. We don't resell it, don't analyse it for advertising, don't train AI models on it.

You can delete your account at any time. When you do, your data is deleted within 30 days, with backups rotating out within 90 days.

What you must not do

  • Use Crestio to harass, stalk, or harm anyone
  • Upload illegal content, or content you don't have the right to store
  • Attempt to access other tutors' data
  • Scrape, resell, or repackage Crestio as your own product
  • Use the AI lesson plan feature to generate anything that violates Anthropic's usage policies
  • Spam students, parents, or other tutors through any communications feature

We may suspend or close your account if you do any of the above.

Pricing

Crestio is currently free while we find out whether it's actually useful to tutors. We plan to introduce a paid tier. When we do, existing accounts will get fair notice — at least 30 days — before any charge applies, and the free tier will either continue or we'll offer a meaningful free trial.

The AI lesson plan feature

Lesson plans are generated by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. We don't guarantee their accuracy. Review anything you use with students. AI can invent facts. You're the tutor — you have the last call on what's taught.

Uptime and availability

We try to keep Crestio running. It mostly does. But it's hosted on Vercel and Supabase, both of which have outages occasionally, and we don't promise any uptime percentage or guarantee the service will be available at any particular moment. Don't build anything depending on Crestio being reachable at a specific time.

Things we're not liable for

Crestio is provided "as is". We're not liable for lost business, lost data beyond our control (see our backup policy in the privacy page), or decisions you make based on what the software shows you. If an invoice total is wrong and you send it to a parent, that's a problem you need to fix — we can't be held responsible for what ends up in an email.

To the fullest extent allowed by Australian law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Crestio is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months. For most users that is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that meaningfully affects you, we'll email registered users before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Crestio after that counts as acceptance.

Closing your account

Email hello@crestio.ai from your account address and we'll close it within 7 days. An in-app delete button is on the way.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute that can't be resolved by emailing us is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
