How is the AI different from ChatGPT?

Crestio's polish is calibrated to your tutor voice over time and never copies session-to-session — every polish is a fresh request. The model only sees what's needed to write that one update. ChatGPT is a general assistant; this is a specialised tool for tutoring notes.

What if my AI polish sounds wrong?

You review every send. Edit it inline before it goes, or discard the polish entirely and write the parent update yourself. Polish learns from your edits — by the third week, it sounds like you.

Is parent payment optional?

Yes. You can keep using bank transfer or any other method. Crestio just makes Stripe parent payments easy if you want them — it's not required.

What's the Stripe fee on top of Crestio?

On parent payments: 2.9% + 30c (Stripe) + 1% (Crestio). Charged to you, not the parent. So on a $100 invoice you keep about $96. No fees on bank-transfer invoices.

Can I export my data?

Yes. CSV export of students, sessions, invoices, and messages from Settings → Data. Anytime. No lock-in.

Do parents need an account?

No. Parents get a private link by email and pay with their card. They can optionally claim an account if they want a history view, but it's never required.

What if Crestio shuts down?

Crestio commits to 12 months notice and a final export window. Your data stays exportable as CSV the entire time. If Crestio ever does shut down, you'll have plenty of room to migrate.

Where is my data stored?

Supabase, hosted in Australia for AU customers (or auto-detected closest region for others). Encrypted at rest and in transit. Each organisation's data is isolated — no cross-tenant access at the database level.

I built this for myself first

I'm Lenin. I tutor HSC English in Sydney. I built Crestio because every Sunday afternoon I was opening three different spreadsheets, copy-pasting session notes into emails, chasing parents for invoice payments, and forgetting which student needed what next week.

I tried Teachworks. Too much. I tried Notion. Too DIY. I tried sticky notes. Lost them. So I built the tool I wished existed — the one that lets me finish a session, scribble three lines into a phone, and have everything else handled.
